APWH Vocabulary
For students to be successful in AP World history, they must learn, practice, and utilize a large amount of social studies words and concepts. All students will keep and maintain a vocabulary journal, which will be checked for a grade once a week.
Weekly Vocabulary Journal Instructions:
During daily lessons, students will be notified and given new words to add to their journal, they will also be added here, on this webpage for reference.
By the end of class, students need to write down ALL new words in their journal.
Then, students will use either a physical dictionary, Merriam-Webster Online, or The Encyclopedia Britannica to look up the new words, and write and include the complete definitions.
Journal checks will be conducted the following week for all new words and definitions. For example, new words from week 3 will be checked at the end of week 4.
